GCIB collaboration with Laboratories Larrasa Spain for Integrated Poultry project in  Senegal

On the 30th of October 2023, a GCIB delegation met with the management of Laboratorios Larrasa, a leading Spanish biotechnology specialist to sign agreements on joint development of an integrated Bio-technology Poultry Industrial Park in Gandor Senegal. The project featuring as a key element of the full spectrum development, cutting edge fertilised eggs production would support a volume of 500000 chicken per day once operational. The expansive project is to be spread across 1000 Hectares of land already acquired in Gandor, Senegal along with 500 Hectares of maize farming to supplement the feed requirements of the poultry farm. This novel project aims not only to bridge the market demand in West Africa but also create 500 employments, be the first such zero emission farm in the continent and probably worldwide in addition to featuring the latest in artificial intelligence and IOT. The farm once set up aims to strengthen the local poultry farmers of the region by imparting education, training, technology and support for augmenting their present business structures. 

GCIB & Foundation for Democracy in Africa partner for Sustainable Development

The Foundation for Democracy in Africa (FDA) and GCIB entered into an agreement along the sidelines of AFRICANDO 2023 at Miami on the 27th of October 2023 for jointly developing sustainable projects in the African continent. The Foundation for Democracy in Africa (FDA) is a development organization committed to promoting participatory democracy, economic growth and sustainable development throughout Africa.  Founded in 1994, FDA is a 501c 3 not for profit, non-governmental, non-partisan institution headquartered in Washington, DC with offices in Miami, Florida, USA. The collaboration will see development of sector based projects in agriculture, tourism, industrial development etc starting with Senegal and eventually spreading through the continent.

GCIB enters into MOU for development of Saint Louis Mega sustainable SEZ project

Dr Idrissa, Chairman of GCIB met with a high level delegation of the Saint Louis Inter-municipal region in Senegalcomprising of 7 Mayors and other senior officials from the region. GCIB formalised the collaboration to develop theambitious Special Economic Zones project in this historic city comprising of multiple segments such as a megaelectronics industrial park, 200 MWp Solar photovoltaic energy park, Tourism, Agriculture, Hydroponics, Port, Logistics,20000 House residential township, Skill development University, Animal Husbandry etc to name a few. Subsequent tosigning the MOU formally, GCIB mobilised investment approvals for the solar energy park, hydroponics and a zero wastecommunity system totalling in the region of almost 0.5 Billion US$ including submitting the formal letter from theinvestment group for these two segments of the SEZ project with others in discussion. The low emission project of grandscale promises to set a new example in sustainable development in West Africa with a modern urban re-planning system,community engagement, significant employment creation and socio-economic growth.

GCIB partners with ARDN

GCIB Chairman Dr Idrissa along with his delegation met with Hon Dr Djibril Diallo, President of the AfricanRenaissance Diaspora Network (ARDN) and the ARDN executive team at New York on the sidelines of the UNGA. Thediscussions explored opportunities to collaborate on accelerating investment and projects in the African continent. Thediscussions focussed on a Red Card Challenge aligned with the Red Card initiative to work towards setting up asubstantial Women's entrepreneurship startup incubation fund for Africa starting with Senegal and growing progressivelyto other countries on the continent. As part of the collaboration, joint events to be held in Africa as well as participation inother global initiatives were discussed elaborately. The collaboration promises to be very successful deriving from thedrive towards common goals and visions for Africa by leveraging the strength of the Diaspora in the Americas.

GCIB Delegation at UNGA with ARDN

GCIB's three member delegation led by Chairman Dr. Idrissa Doucoure participated at the Africa Open for Businessorganised under the auspices of the ARDN (African Renaissance & Diaspora Network INC, New York) along the UNGA.The annual event held alongside the UNGA focussed on discussing climate change and its effects on Women andsolutions to combat the exposure and risks to women. Dr Idrissa delivered a keynote address recalling the contributions ofDr Djibril Diallo, Hon President of ARDN as the legendary Special Advisor to the Director of UNICEF, Dr. Diallo wasinstrumental in transforming the global healthcare sector, ultimately saving more than 25 million children's lives throughhis dedication and hard work.

 

Elaborating on the subject of the event, he said that that women's rights are human rights, a truth echoing across the sandsof the Sahara to the coastlines of the Indian and Atlantic oceans. But in the era of the climate change, this truth has foundan even deeper resonance. The fates of women and our climate are interwoven, a tapestry of shared destiny. Dr Idrissafurther quoted "focus our collective might on popularising and realising the SDGs, especially goals 5, 9, 13, and 17.Why? Because gender equality is not just a women’s issue" with a call for action and supporting the Red card campaignof ARDN to prevent violence against women and children. GCIB's commitments to the common goals were discussed indetail and shared with the esteemed delegates present.

GCIB enters into strategic collaboration with UNASDG

GCIB has recently signed with the United Nations Alliance for Sustainable Development Goals Inter GovernmentalOrganisation UNASDG-IGO in a remarkable collaboration agreement aimed at developing sustainable projectsthroughout Senegal. GCIB and UNASDG have committed to working collaboratively to drive large-scale sustainabilityinitiatives across the nation. This high-impact partnership has already begun making strides, with 16 significant projects inearly stages. UNASDG is the funding partner for the SDG cities program with UNGSII and UN Habitat. GCIB as aleading international organisation promoting sustainable projects will bring our expertise to the fore for achieving rapiddeployment of projects under the collaboration. The agreement was signed at the Oval room of CICAD convention centerin Dakar at the Invest Forum Senegal between UNASDG Special Diplomatic Ambassador for International Affairs Mr.Alfredo Ramirez and GCIB Chairman Dr. Eng Idrissa Doucoure.

GCIB facilitates contracts worth over 3 Billion $ at Invest Forum Senegal

From the 6th to the 8th of July, the GCIB members actively took part in the prestigious Invest Forum Senegal, hosted in Dakar. The event saw a robust delegation of distinguished GCIB members, complete with diplomatic representation, contributing to an enriching experience for all involved.

Throughout the forum, GCIB played a significant role by conducting meetings in the impressive CICAD Oval room – the largest presentation venue available in the center. Delegation members captivated audiences with numerous thought-provoking presentations covering unique ideas such as intertwined economics for sustainable development.

In a remarkable display of collaborative efforts, GCIB enabled the successful signing of eight pioneering projects worth over 3 billion dollars. These environmentally-sensitive ventures – comprising hydroponic plants, zero waste communities, biogas projects, eco-agri townships, smart cities, a film city, a banana invitro factory, and a fish factory – have already secured financing approvals and are poised to commence operations shortly. As part of this momentous occasion, UNASDG International Diplomatic Ambassador Hon Alfredo Ramirez announced multiple billion dollars in funding for future projects in Senegal
